Career Readiness Coordinator (Temporary Position)
Position Available: Career Readiness Coordinator
Provides engaging instruction which will include resume writing, interviewing techniques, mock interviews, job search techniques, job retention strategies, employability skills, life skills training, etc. Evaluates student progress, identify and use appropriate material for the student being taught and establish department goals.
THIS WILL BE A TEMPORARY POSITION
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure students complete and/or separate from the program as a graduate, or former enrollee.
- Assist students with job searches, completing and submitting applications, obtaining interviews, and attending job fairs.
- Implement and facilitate all CTR curriculum and classroom instruction to include, but not limited to, resume writing, interviewing techniques, mock interviews, job search techniques, job retention strategies, employability skills, life skills training, budgeting, etc.
- Participate in the evaluation of student progress and continued updates of the student's Personal Career Development Plan, starting in the Career Preparation Period.
- Work closely with the Career and Technical Training Instructor, Work Based Learning Coordinator, and Career Counselors to ensure pre-termination placement goals are met.
- Develop a monthly calendar of events that would include ASVAB Testing, Military and College Prep, college open houses, job fairs, on-center job fairs, employer presentations, etc.
- Work closely with the scheduling clerk to ensure appropriate scheduling of the students into the CTR Program, based on the student projection date.
- Coordinate present for duty off-center (PDOF) leaves for students with verified interviews. Ensure daily contact with all student PDOF's.
- Ensure students are registered with the local One-Stop Center before and during enrollment. Work with Admissions Counselors, and the Work Based Learning Coordinator to establish and maintain One-Stop Center contacts.

Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in social or human services, Education, Counseling, or a related field preferred
- An equivalent combination of education, vocational training, and experience may substitute for the degree requirement on a year-to-year basis
- One year of related experience in sales, marketing, or Counseling related services
- Must possess a Valid New York State Driving License with an acceptable driving record. Compensation is based on experience.
