Full-Time Driver with CDL Passenger Endorsement
Summary of Position Functions: Responsible for safely operating government vehicles to transport students to off-center appointments and other destinations as assigned.
Schedule: 7:30am-4:30pm
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Transport students to and from off-center appointments
- Check the condition of vehicles to ensure that everything is in good working order (tires, breaks, lights, wipers, windows, oil, fuel, safety equipment, etc.)
- Reports any bus malfunctions or needed repairs
- Complies with traffic regulations
- Prepares and submits reports that may include the number of passengers or trips, hours worked, mileage, and/or fuel consumption.
- Assists the Safety Supervisor in routine safety duties.

Skills and Competencies:
- Working knowledge of basic vehicle operation
- Demonstrated knowledge of vehicle safety practices, inspections, and maintenance
- Knowledge of traffic and highway safety rules and regulations
- Strong attention to detail
- Good decision-making skills
- Ability to understand and carry out oral and written directions
- Effective communication skills both verbal and written
- Ability to relate to students
- Proficient using computer software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
Educational Requirements and Experiences:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- CDL with Passenger Endorsement
- One year's experience in driving passenger vehicles
- Must possess a valid NYS driver's license with a clean driving record
