DESCRIPTION:On Wednesday June 13 Wayne Wright will lead a Greater Oneonta Historical Society (GOHS) walking tour of the former site of the Oneonta fairgrounds\, today's Belmont Circle neighborhood.The Oneonta or Central New York Fair (1873-1926) was once the second largest in the state. GOHS member Wright was the longtime librarian at the former New York State Historical Association (NYSHA) in Cooperstown\, and was awarded the 2018 New York Academy of History's Herbert H. Lehman Prize for Distinguished Service for History.\n\n \n\nThe walking tour begins at 7:00 PM at Belmont Place and Hudson Street\, near where Hudson and Fair Streets meet. This tour is by donation to benefit GOHS.
