DESCRIPTION:Pathways to Prosperity\n\n2nd Annual Mohawk Valley Region Workforce Summit\n\n\n\nThe 2019 Workforce Summit is for Educators\, Students\, Workforce and Economic Developers\, Work Ready Community Leaders\, Employers\, and Industry Partners to come together to improve the overall quality of our region's workforce.\n\n\n\nParticipants will get the inside track on collaborative and innovative strategies to help students\, job seekers and business succeed and communities thrive and prosper.\n\n\n\nThe Summit workshops are designed to demonstrate evidence-based best practices that convey new ideas or approaches to highly skilled workforce development in the Mohawk Valley Region.  Presentations will focus on solutions not (problems)\, and how the models and strategies can be replicated.  Lessons learned\, obstacles overcome\, key drivers\, and useful tools will be shared.\n\n\n\nThe Summit is organized by The Otsego County Chamber of Commerce to facilitate meaningful discussion that drives results of prosperity for our region. The focus areas of our discussion will be around talent recruitment and retainment in the following fields of focus:\n\n\n	Healthcare and Health & Human Services\,\n	Manufacturing\,\n	Information Technology\,\n	Hospitality & Tourism\n\nThis year\, there will be 4 general tracks for presentations\, which include:\n\nTrack One\nProven strategies for improving outcomes for individuals with low-income and/or barriers to\n\neducation/employment\, including adult basic education\, re-entry\, adults and youth with disabilities\, substance misuse\, or addiction.\nTrack Two\nEffective employer and business strategies with education and workforce development\n\nTrack Three\nHigh-performing Career & Technical Education readiness programs that lead to credential attainment\, postsecondary degrees\, apprenticeships and workplace success\n\nTrack Four\nSuccessful collaboration and partnerships\, such as relationships with education and industry\,\n\n\n\nThe full AGENDA including speakers and schedule for the day\, will be available closer to the event
